We were very excited about opening the church and were very grateful that God had guided us during this journey. As we prepared, I couldn’t help but reflect on the past year. No matter what happened in our lives, our communities, or the world, the one thing that was constant and helped us endure was our faith.
Faith, that conviction that what we believe in exists, even though we have no direct proof of its existence. Faith, that confidence, and trust that what we ask God for in prayer will be granted.
I cannot talk about faith without thinking about Rev. Bessie. She has the confident assurance that what she asks God for in prayer will be granted. Her faith that God had a bigger plan for us, our church, the world during the health challenge never wavered. She encouraged us, prayed with and for us, challenged us to do better, and consoled us. Even during her own trials, Rev. Bessie kept a faithful heart knowing that with faith all things are possible. Her strong faith has been an inspiration to us all.
God not only guided us during the health challenge, He blessed us with Rev. Bessie.
Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen. Hebrews 11:1
