Dr. Mirian Hinds – Our Guest Speaker for March 22, 2026

Doctor Mirian Hinds retired as Chairperson of the Physical Education Department of the City University of New York. She was a leader in the University community even serving as Dean of Special Programs (SEEK) which was profoundly responsible for many African Americans and Hispanics getting their college degrees.

She served in the Harlem community YWCA and provided her expertise to the vocational and workshop center. She is a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority and is a National Evaluator for the Collegiate Athletic Association. 

Dr. was the recipient of the President’s National Physical Fitness Teacher’s.Award and received the 1985 Service Award from the Harlem Chamber of Commerce. She is a member of the United Methodist Church of Hackensack, and has maintained her steadfast service to her church and the community she lives in over the years of her dedicated participation.
